Silke’s Potato Cup and Salaman’s Potato Cup

Specially commissioned slip-cast porcelain cups, produced in 2023 as part of two hand-finished editions of 24 vessels in each grouping. The smaller vessel is named after agricultural inspector JJ Silke who developed the seed potato industry in Donegal. The larger vessel is named after potato scholar Redcliffe N. Salaman, author of ‘The Influence of the Potato in the Course of Irish History’ presented as a lecture at UCD in 1943. Both are packaged and presented alongside a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist.

25% of proceeds from sales go to the future programming of Kunstverein Aughrim. 75% of sales go directly to the artist, and will contribute to the production of a broadsheet publication to accompany O’Mahony’s major new project The Quickening.
