Silke’s Potato Cup is packaged and presented alongside a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist.

Salaman, author of ‘The Influence of the Potato in the Course of Irish History’ presented as a lecture at UCD in 1943. Salaman’s Potato Cup is packaged and presented alongside a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist.

A pair of specially commissioned slip-cast porcelain cups, produced in 2023 as part of two hand-finished editions of 24 vessels in each grouping. The smaller vessel is named after agricultural inspector JJ Silke who developed the seed potato industry in Donegal. The larger vessel is named after potato scholar Redcliffe N. Salaman, author of ‘The Influence of the Potato in the Course of Irish History’ presented as a lecture at UCD in 1943.
