Granite Leap T-shirt

In 2022 Forerunner were commissioned to come up with a spatial solution to everything Kunstverein Aughrim aspired to be: an office, a gallery, a workshop space, a gathering space, a recital room, a rehearsal space, an exhibition venue, a conversation holder, etc etc. Forerunner listened to the long list of demands, and devised an interior infrastructure for the space, consisting of a central shelving unit that rotates over a large granite boulder, transforming the room from a bi-sected gallery into a large open space. The work was titled Granite Leap. It constitutes the physical space of Kunstverein Aughrim, as a system of use, an ideological anchor, and an artistic proposition.
In 2025 Conall Downs was commissioned to capture this artwork in a single drawing. The result was printed onto a run of 40 t-shirts that are available for purchase. Funds raised go to the artists (Forerunner and Conall) and to future Kunstverein commissions.
