Call for Creative Producers and Curators

Are you an Independent Creative Producer or a Freelance Curator working in Visual Arts in Ireland?

We are inviting you to apply for Kunstverein’s new Creative Producer Programme. This is a training and development programme supported by the Arts Council of Ireland.

About the Programme

The programme starts in September 2025 and lasts for 18 months. It includes:

1. Training Days
  • There will be 10 full-day workshops.
  • These workshops will include talks and training from experts.
  • You will learn important skills to help you produce visual art projects.
  • Training will take place with our partners, including:
EVA International, Fire Station Artists’ Studios, Galway Arts Centre, Ireland at Venice, Mermaid Arts Centre, National Sculpture Factory, Ormston House, Regional Cultural Centre, Sirius Arts Centre, The Dock, The Douglas Hyde Gallery of Contemporary Art, and VISUAL.

2. Development Days
  • These days are for learning together and giving feedback.
  • Locations and dates:
    • 1 day in Kunstverein Aughrim (Sept 2025)
    • 3 days at Cow House Studios (April 2026)
    • 1 day at Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely (Nov 2026)

3. International Collaboration
  • You will work with partners in the Netherlands; de Appel Amsterdam and Page Not Found, The Hague.
  • This includes a 5 to 10 day trip in June 2026 to the Lumbung Harvest Festival in Amsterdam and a visit to Page Not Found in The Hague.

4. Practice-Based Placement
  • You will work on a real curatorial project.
  • This may be with one of our partners or one you plan yourself.

5. Publication
  • The programme will be recorded and reviewed.
  • We will collect writing and ideas from the training and create a Creative Producer Handbook.

Who Can Apply
We welcome applications from people who want to be Kunstverein’s producer network, and from people who want to set up their own practice.

Support and Payment
  • You will get ongoing support and advice during the programme.
  • You will be paid €12,000 for your participation
  • You will take part in:
    • About 10 training days
    • 5 development days
    • 5 to 10 days of international travel
    • A placement project (time depends on the project)

How to Apply
  • Read the full Guidelines on our website.
  • Fill out the Application Form and send it to us by email to office@kunstverein.ie by 5pm on Monday 30 June 2025.
  • A group of international curators will review the applications.
  • If you are shortlisted, we will contact you by mid-July.
  • Interviews will be on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 July (online or in person).
