SALE OF WORK

Sale of Work
Launch Party for House of Kunst
Kunstverein Aughrim
6–8pm, Thursday 20 November 2025

We’re revamping Kunstverein Editions to create House of Kunst – a new selling platform for artist editions, original artworks, prototypes, studio leftovers, research byproducts, not-quite-artworks, publications, experiments, merch and more.

Inspired by Forerunner’s practical desire to find homes not only for their commissioned work but also for ‘the rest’ of what gets produced in the course of an artistic studio practice, we’re thrilled to introduce House of Kunst as a platform for acquisitions of all kinds.

To begin with we’ll be offering artworks (etc) by some of the artists with whom Kunstverein Aughrim has collaborated to date. These include: Forerunner, Isadora Epstein, Rich Gilligan, Áine Mac Giolla Bhríde, Sonia Shiel, Deirdre O’Mahony, Bassam Issa Al-Sabah, Sarah Browne, Marielle MacLeman, Eslam Abd El Salam, Marie Farrington, and Ruth E Lyons among others.

We’re launching IRL with a Sale of Work (with cocktails) on Thursday 20 November 2025 at Kunstverein Aughrim. Join us from 4-8pm for a double bill of events to mark the occasion...

4–6pm: Suppose a Stone conversation and zine launch with Jenny O’Leary, Finn Richards and Eamonn Hall as part of Irish Design Week 2025

6–8pm: House of Kunst Sale of Work featuring artworks for sale, live palm readings and Sell, Sel, Cel cocktails and salty celery based refreshments by Michelle Darmody.

All works will be available to purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. Remaining works will be available online (with various shipping/delivery options) after the event. Funds generated by House of Kunst support artists and future Kunstverein commissions.

Access
Kunstverein Aughrim is located off Main Street in the village of Aughrim. There is limited on-street parking around the town, with one accessible parking spot outside Day Break. Kunstverein Aughrim is not step free, it has five steps at the entrance, with no handrails. Kunstverein Aughrim is located in the centre of the village, with busy roads either side. The footpaths are wide and uneven. There is a curb cut 40 meters from the entrance. Kunstverein Aughrim has one inaccessible bathroom. There is an accessible bathroom next door at First Batch bakery (open until 4pm) and at O’Tooles local pub across the road.

Getting to Aughrim
Aughrim is around 70 km from Dublin City Centre. There are limited public transport options to Aughrim. If coming from Dublin by public transport for this event we recommend taking the 14.05 Wexford Bus from Dublin Lr Merrion St, arriving to Arklow for 15:05. Alternatively one could take the 13.33 Rosslare Europort train from Dublin Pearse, arriving in Rathdrum at 14:56. A member of our team can meet you on arrival in Arklow or Rathdrum and drive you to Aughrim, subject to prior arrangement by email.

Kunstverein Aughrim is supported by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and Wicklow County Council. Suppose a Stone 2025 is supported by Irish Design Week. Funds generated by House of Kunst support artists and future Kunstverein commissions.
