CURATORIAL COLLABORATOR

Kunstverein Projects is proud to partner with Fingal County Council Arts Office in the creation of a new curatorial role within the Creative Producer Programme. We are delighted toannounce Sara Muthi as our inaugural Curatorial Collaborator.

This new role, combining mentorship, dramaturgy and curatorial practice, is supported by Fingal County Council Arts Office. Muthi will accompany the Creative Producer  Programme, offering curatorial guidance and mentorship to the participants, assisting with and developing research, and undertaking a case study in public art commissioning in close collaboration with Fingal Arts Office.

Deputy Arts Officer for Public Art Caroline Cowley describes how “ the Creative Producer Programme is timely and aligns Fingal County Council’s recent Public Art Policy where we recognise the value of how curatorial professionalism, when combined with careful developments between artists and communities, can meaningfully impact the eco-system of contemporary art commissioning as lead by local authorities.

Sara Muthi is a curator and writer. Born in Bistrița-Năsăud, Romania, and based in Dublin, her curatorial practice centres on research-led artist commissions developed in collaboration with arts and cultural institutions, with presentations in Ireland and Romania. Muthi was the Curatorial Fellow at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, working across several significant exhibitions, including Hamad Butt: Apprehensions, in collaboration with Whitechapel Gallery, and curating a series of site specific performances across the museum site. In 2025 she was the guest Education Curator at the Hugh Lane Gallery. Since 2023 Muthi has been the Curator of Visual Art at Brown Mountain Diamond, an artist-run art residency space in deep rural Ireland. She regularly teaches on Fine Art programmes at TU Dublin and Limerick School of Art and Design, and was a Teaching Assistant in the department of Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin. She is the recipient of Black Church Print Studio Emerging Curator Award 2022 and Pallas Projects Studios / PVA Writer Award 2023. She is a member of AICA | International Association of Art Critics.

The role of  Curatorial Collaborator is conceived with, and made possible by the support of Fingal County Council Arts Office.
